Expert Ford transmission repair in South Florida

Ford trucks and Mustangs are everywhere in South Florida — F-150s on job sites, Super Dutys towing boats to the ramp, Mustangs on Las Olas. They also cover three decades of very different transmissions, and each family has its own personality and its own weak spots. Knowing which one you have, and what usually goes wrong with it, is most of the battle.

The older rear-drive units — the AODE and the 4R70W found in F-150s, Mustangs, Crown Victorias and Explorers — are simple and durable, but they wear their bands and clutch packs and can develop pump and pressure problems with age. The heavy-duty E4OD and its successor the 4R100, used behind big gas engines and the 7.3L Power Stroke, are strong but hate heat; towing in Florida summers with tired fluid is a common way to burn them up.

The 5R110W TorqShift behind the 6.0L and 6.4L Power Stroke is a tough five-speed that commonly shows up with torque-converter and clutch wear from towing and high-torque tuning. The six-speed 6R80 in the F-150, Expedition and Mustang is often brought in for harsh or erratic shifts, and the ten-speed 10R80 in late-model F-150s, Mustangs, Rangers and Broncos for shift-quality complaints that need careful diagnosis — sometimes it’s software and adaptive learning, sometimes it’s internal.

We diagnose before we quote, so you know whether you need a solenoid, a valve body, a converter, or a full rebuild. And if replacement makes more sense, we sell rebuilt 4R70W, E4OD, 4R100, 5R110W and 10R80 units built and dyno-checked in our own shop, and ship them nationwide.

Signs your Ford transmission needs attention

If your vehicle is showing any of these, bring it in for a free diagnosis before a small problem becomes a big one:

Harsh or Erratic Shifts

Bangs into gear, hunting between gears, or shift flares are common complaints on the 6R80 and 10R80 and need a proper scan.

Slipping While Towing

Slipping or flaring under load on an E4OD, 4R100 or 5R110W often means heat-damaged clutches or a converter problem.

No Overdrive

Losing overdrive or the top gear on an AODE or 4R70W can point to band, clutch, or pressure problems.

Converter Shudder

A shudder at steady highway speed, like driving over rumble strips, often traces to torque-converter clutch issues.

Overheating Warnings

A transmission temperature warning on a Super Duty is a reason to pull over and get the fluid and cooler checked.

Fault Codes or Limp Mode

Ford transmission codes and limp mode need real diagnosis, not a guess at which part to swap.

Process

How we handle your Ford transmission repair

The same honest, four-step process on every job — a solution, not a guess:

Free Diagnosis

We road-test, scan transmission and engine codes, check fluid condition and pressure, and identify your exact Ford unit.

Honest Estimate

Repair, rebuild, or a rebuilt replacement — you get the options in writing before any work begins.

Repair or Rebuild

Solenoids, valve bodies, converters, or a full rebuild with the known weak points for your Ford family addressed.

Test & Warranty

We road-test and verify every shift, then back the work with a 1-year / 12,000-mile warranty.

Ford Transmission Repair FAQ

Questions, answered.

How much does Ford transmission repair cost?
It depends on your Ford, which transmission it uses, and what the diagnosis finds — a 6R80 valve-body repair and a 5R110W rebuild are very different jobs. We diagnose it free and give you an exact written estimate first. Call (954) 535-9393.
Which transmission is in my Ford?
It depends on the model, year and engine. An F-150 alone has used the 4R70W, 4R75W, 6R80 and 10R80 over the years. Call us with your VIN and we’ll identify it, or we’ll confirm it during your free diagnosis.
Why does my 10R80 shift harshly?
Harsh or busy shifting on a 10R80 can come from software, adaptive learning, fluid condition, or internal wear. The fix is very different for each, so we scan it, road-test it, and diagnose the real cause before recommending anything.
Do you rebuild 5R110W TorqShift transmissions for Power Stroke trucks?
Yes. We repair and rebuild the 5R110W behind the 6.0L and 6.4L Power Stroke, and we sell rebuilt 5R110W units. If you tow heavy, we’ll talk with you about cooling and fluid care to protect it.
Can you ship a rebuilt Ford transmission?
Yes. We sell rebuilt 4R70W, E4OD, 4R100, 5R110W and 10R80 transmissions and ship them nationwide. See the rebuilt units and call to confirm fitment by VIN.
Do you work on older Fords and classics?
Yes. From AODE-equipped Mustangs and Crown Victorias to E4OD-era Broncos and F-Series trucks, we work on older Fords too. Call and tell us what you’re driving.
